Abstract
Prostate cancer is the leading type of cancer in Irish men 1 in 8 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Younger men because of their age at diagnosis will have to cope with survival issues specific to prostate cancer treatment for longer periods than older men with prostate cancer. ¨Younger men also report unique concerns relating to potency, sexuality, psychological, social activity, employment, financial worries, role performance and a decline in perceived masculinity, all of which contribute to reduced well-being and quality of life over time.
