    Abstract

Warfare has been a highly significant factor in the formation of modernity. The long-term impact of war on society has been analyzed by different approaches including the neo-Durkheimian, comparative historical-sociological, and economistic approaches. Recent debates have focused on the transformation of warfare and the emergence of new wars and warlordism.
