Abstract
How do managers in multinational corporations (MNCs) utilize novel or diverse knowledge to develop high-value solutions? Using data of 120 projects, representing 838 ties, we find that utilizing novel knowledge increases solution value. Moreover, mobilizing samefunction ties across MNC units and external ties, and collaboration density are associated with novel knowledge utilization.
