Abstract

Maps of the Galway granite, Connemara, are contoured for the surface contents of %K, ppmeU, ppmeTh and heat production. The K, U and Th were measured in situ by a portable gamma -ray spectrometer for 700 stations. There is a direct correlation between high radioelements and the leucocratic facies of the granite, and with areas of high heat production. -R.K.H.
