Abstract

In Antiquity 1966, Professor Graham Clark examined the invasion hypothesis in British archaeology. In this article, gbhn Waddell, who lectures in archaeology in University College, Galway, casts a cold eye on the use of this model in Irish prehistory; he suggests a less simplistic approach to the problem of cultural change and a m e cautious re-assessment of the archaeological evidence.
