Abstract
This paper will seek to explore whether the international human-rights law framework is sufficient to deal with current challenges to peace and security. The system as provided by the United Nations will be addressed, and the paper will discuss in particular whether the reform process of recent years has yielded success in the promotion and protection of international human rights. Progress made in this regard will be analysed and current threats to international human-rights law will be outlined.
