Abstract
Ultrasonication at 20 kHz and intensity of 50 W/cm2 of a diploid strain of Aspergillus nidulans was found to lead to a significant increase in haploidization of germinating conidiospores. In a preliminary study ultrasound was found not to have an effect on the rate of reverse mutation in conidiospore suspensions of auxotrophic mutants.
