Abstract

Fish attained six years of age but were predominantly made up of 0-3 group individuals. Growth was rapid during the first three years of life. The butterfish is mainly carnivorous, amphipods and isopods being the principal food items. The annual feeding cycle showed some high values for feeding intensities during February to May and low values from June/July to December/January. Nine species of helminth parasite were recorded. -from Authors
