Abstract

On January 22, 2025, Screen Ireland launched its new strategic plan, informed by a report from Alma Economics on the economic and skills needs of the screen sector. The research, conducted in 2024 and covering 2021-2023, highlights the audiovisual sectors significant contribution to Irelands economy, supporting 10,450 full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs directly and 15,899 FTEs in total. While the report covers all aspects of the screen industries, and focuses primarily on the film, TV and animation sectors, there are interesting insights into the operation of the digital games sector in Ireland.
