Abstract

Abstract. In this study, trends in Turkish natural language processing (NLP) studies conducted in health domain since 2000 were examined. For this purpose, theses and publications related to the subject were scanned in leading national and international scientific indexes and 28 of them that met the required criteria were included in the study. These publications were classified and listed according to their features such as the type and purpose of the publication, NLP implementation methodology, and the area of use of the resulting product, then an analysis was made with the help of descriptive statistics over this list. In the light of the findings, it was concluded that the studies in the field does not reach sufficient maturity, although they are in line with the general NLP trends of the day, the number of publications is not high, but their quantities and varieties are increasing.
