Abstract
The paper discusses the development of a computer-aided robot planning system. The proposed methodical procedure is based on the steps of "Manufacturing Systems Analysis, Determination of Basic Data, Documentation of Information, System Layout Planning and Evaluation, Decision on Economic Feasibility, Final Detailing of the Planned System and Planning of the Systems Installation", which are described in detail. Further software modules, corresponding to the phases in the planning procedure, as well as the data flow requirements, are presented.
