Abstract
This paper describes the results of a research and development project, aimed at building a special purpose logic circuit simulator for power plant components. Details for the simulator comprises a database of components and circuit topology derived from plant logic schematics. Specific input signals corresponding to those in the plant are applied to the simulator and the logic system is subsequently studied. The system uses a state-of-the-art Windows interface with input signal selection using drop-down menus, and animated CAD drawings to demonstrate the operation. As a test system, the control logic in the ESB's Moneypoint power plant is targeted.
