Abstract

Our premise is that the strategic level problems present in real-time strategy (RTS) games can benefit from All techniques used in board game research (board games such as Diplomacy [9] and Risk [8]). To this effect, we believe that the board game itself should closely model the strategic level aspect of a RTS game. We outline what we believe to be important problems in the area of RTS games, identify the needs and requirements for such a test-bed, and then define our specification for the model.
