Abstract
If the study of the distribution of power should be at the centere of political science, as many believe, then it would be a good idea to think carefully about what power is. Hence, philosophical questions about the nature of power arose from disputes originally outside political philosophy, which perhaps explains the concept’s marginal status within political philosophy. Topics treated are: power as a dispositional concept, power-to and power-over, being in another’s power, the relation between power and freedom, power and structure, and domination.
