Abstract

The pamphlet describes PALSTAT, a disc-based, user-friendly package, which contains 31 programs for the BBC Model B/Master series microcomputer encompassing a wide variety of graphical and statistical procedures. It is considered useful not only for the routine treatment of taxonomic and ecological data in research but also for the demonstration of such techniques in the class and laboratory. The package (available from Lochee) comprises: a 40 or 80 track disc, plus a manual (#24.50, #18.50 for members of the Palaeontological Association). Student manuals are available at #3.50 (reductions for bulk orders), and an Econet package (#90.00) as well: this comprises an Econet disc, two manuals and 12 student manuals.-M.A.Bass
