Abstract

We report measurements of the ⁶A₁(⁶S)→⁴T₁(⁴G) transitions of Mn² in Rb₂MnF₄, a layer type antiferromagnet. Pure electronic and magnon sideband transitions are identified. The observed polarizations are in agreement with predictions based on the magnetic structure.
