Abstract

The scattering coefficient, and absorption coefficient of the atmospheric aerosol were measured since 1996 and 1989 at the Global Atmospheric Watch (GAW/WMO) atmospheric research station at Mace Head, located on the west coast of Ireland. The scattering measurements were conducted with a TSI Model 3563 Integrating Nephelometer, operating at three wavelengths. The absorption coefficient for each wavelength was obtained and compared with the aerosol scattering coefficients.
