Abstract
A proof is given which guarantees the existence of nonnegative solutions to the semi-positone problem. As an example, the boundary-value problem is considered. It is shown that under physically reasonable conditions, a Thiele modulus that is easy to calculate is present in addition to the nonnegative solution.
