Abstract
We describe a case of neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) in a 16-year-old girl receiving neuroleptic treatment. Therapy had remained unchanged in the previous six months. The symptoms were unusually acute in onset and responded very rapidly to therapy. These features are atypical of NMS but should not prevent diagnosis of the syndrome.
