    Abstract

    This book examines the rise and impact of Media of the People in Egypt, distinguishing it from social and new media. Focusing on the emergence of blogging, it analyzes the relationships between Media of the People, the state, and traditional media. The author explores how Media of the People challenges dominant narratives, investigates the role of the state in shaping media landscapes, and examines the evolving dynamics between professional and popular journalists, including periods of confrontation and cooperation. Key concepts introduced include counter-media, highlighting the production of counter-narratives by non-professional actors.
