Abstract
During the first campaign in September 1998 of the PARFORCE project, an array of Condensation Particle Counters (CPC) was applied to study spatial structures of nanoparticle-bursts. The measurements aim at finding an occurrence rate for recently formed particles and deriving a nucleation rate and a regional particle source rate. Further, data was used to locate the source region of the particles to support measurements and theoretical work on precursor gases and nucleation mechanisms. Initial results were generally significant.
