N2 - The mass spectral cracking pattern of CH3CF3 and the appearance potentials of the ions CF3+, CH3CF2+, CH3CF3+ have been determined. Heterolytic bond dissociation energies, D(R+F-), for the series CH3CH3-nFn (n 1,2,3) and the C-C bond dissociation energy in CH3CF3 are reported, and the latter is discussed in relation to recent thermochemical and kinetic data.
