Abstract

The study of cell-surface antigens defined by monoclonal antibodies has provided many insights into cellular differentiation and cell interactions. The Ly-24 alloantigen¹, originally called phagocytic-glycoprotein-1 (Pgp-1)² is one such membrane glycoprotein. In this article Felicity Lynch and Rhodri Ceredig suggest that Ly-24 is expressed by both 'immature' and 'mature', mouse T-cell populations and discuss the implications for mouse thymology.
