Abstract

The LD50 of a single dose of ivermectin as Ivomec™, when delivered by oral intubation to Atlantic salmon, was 0.5 μg/kg. When it was administered to brown trout via IP injection the LD50 was 0.3 μ/kg. The 96 h LC50 of ivermectin for salmon following immersion in dilutions of Ivomec™ was 17 μ/1. These data are discussed in terms of their implications for the assessment of the environmental impact of the use of ivermectin in fish farming.
