Abstract

Leo Smyth is a Lecturer at University College Galway and Rein van der Vegt at the University of Utrecht. In their paper they examine what happens when organisations are confronted with innovations which challenge their existing way of doing things. Their argument is illustrated with examples taken from case studies of a Dutch adult education organisation and a residential centre for mentally - handicapped people in Ireland.
