Abstract
Chromenes and their derivatives are abundant in natural products and biologically active molecules. Here we summarize the decades-long development of transition metal-catalyzed site-selective C-H functionalization of chromene derivatives. This chapter describes the C-H functionalization of H-chromenes, 2 H-chromen-2-ones (coumarins), 4H-chromenes and 4H-chromen-4-ones (chromones).
