Abstract

Online science festival workshop during which Individual prepare DNA at home using a kit sent in advance of the event. Description of the intervention: An experiment kit is shipped in advance to interested member of the public who have book a place on a workshop. The day before the workshop, the individual is invited to join the Cell explorers team in a private Zoom meeting so that they can prepare DNA live in their kitchen under mentoring of Cell Explorers scientists. On the day of the workshop, individual from the public log onto the link for a one hour online session. The workshop is introduced to the group of participants, who are next send in small group in breakout rooms to prepare DNA with 2 Cell Explorers scientists. A protocol and a link to a video presenting the experiment is made available after the workshop so that people can repeat the experiment at home.
