Abstract
Carcinoma of the extrahepatic biliary tract occurring in a husband and wife within three months of each other are presented. The husband died from carcinoma of the gallbladder and common bile duct. The wife had a successful whipples resection for carcinoma of the ampulla, but died eighteen months later with recurrent tumour. No common aetiological factor was identified.
