Abstract

A variety of initial and boundary value problems in applied mathematics have nonlinear, discontinuous forcing terms. Existence theorems for problems of this sort are established for initial value, two-point, and multi-point boundary value problems for ordinary differential equations. Applications to steady-state heat conduction problems are given.
