Abstract
As City University academics we educate future generations of journalists who go on to work in major national and local media organisations across the United Kingdom and the world. Citys Journalism Department is a world-renowned journalism training institution known for its focus on teaching the professional and practical skills necessary to work as a journalist in a variety of media and formats. The focus is on public interest reporting that uses verifiable sourcing and documentation to produce stories that enlighten and inform society. Freedom of Information is an essential component in every module in the Graduate Journalism Department and for most students it is their first encounter with public services or the State.
