Abstract

This paper investigates the specific case of input current harmonics in rectifier circuits, specifically the fullwave rectifier circuit. Rectifier circuits are emphasized here as these are used as inputs to Switch Mode Power Supplies which in turn are used to power Personal Computers. The effect of source impedance in limiting input current harmonics is explored for several types of source impedance with the use of a new set of formulae, based on simplifying assumptions.
