Abstract

We describe the design and performance of an extensive air shower array which has been operated in its present configuration at Mount Hopkins, Arizona since 1987. The array has a threshold energy of 40 TeV and is located at the same site as the GRANITE VHE gamma ray astronomy experiment of the Whipple Observatory Collaboration....
