Designing an Eye Tracking Experiments to Determine Cognitive Load

Abstract

This paper details an eye tracking study to measure participant cognitive load when interacting with online decision constructs. It elaborates and improves on a pilot study that tested the experiment design. Physiological and subjective measurement of cognitive load is discussed as is a technique to capture participants thoughts and feelings regarding the interaction. This mixed method approach will generate a more holistic understanding of participants decision making and rationale
