Abstract

This diary piece recalls the role of Mary S Kettle in the publication of Tom Kettles posthumous collection of essays The Ways of War (1917) after Kettle was killed in the Battle of the Somme on 9 September 1916. It is based on research funded by the IRC New Foundations Decade of Centenaries scheme 2016.
