Abstract
Since its launch on 30th of November 2022, ChatGPT has raised a lot of interest with respect to its impact on higher education. This paper argues that it is important not to lose sight of the fact that it is a technology tool and the need to educate students with respect to the strengths and weaknesses of this new technology. A fundamental tenet of higher education is that we enable our students to actively engage in critical thinking. This paper presents a suggested pedagogy for large group teaching that enables students to critically assess ChatGPT in an interactive and engaging manner.
