Abstract
In this session, children are given a basic understanding of the human breathing process at the organism level, as well as the cellular level. They will understand what cellular respiration is, its importance and what it involves. Through listening to an interactive presentation and performing two cellular respiration experiments following the scientific methods, the children learn that cells are the basic units where food and oxygen is transformed into energy in the mitochondria. We are made up of cells and visualisation of just how they function in respiration will demonstrate how important cells are to our everyday survival. The children will go home with a data sheet containing their experimental results, so they could share them with their family and friends. participation of the 3rd year BG305 Biotechnology students Aisling Corrigan, Barry Digby, Deirdre Dolan, Jan Lunde, David OMeara in some aspect of desigm
