Abstract
This scoping paper explores the pivotal role of cultural industries in fostering economic growth, social cohesion, and sustainable development in peripheral regions across the European Union. Peripheral regions, often characterized by geographical, economic, and infrastructural constraints, possess untapped potential in their unique cultural assets and creative capacities. The paper aims to identify strategies that can unlock this potential, thereby contributing to balanced regional development and the EUs cohesion policy objectives.
