Abstract

This paper proposes the application of Network Processors (NP) as high speed packet processors for automotive multimedia and control networks. A review of automotive networking technology and protocols is provided. A high level MOST-enabled NP architecture is described. Considerations such as cost, performance, power consumption, configurability and security issues for a proposed NP in-car hub are discussed.
