    Abstract

An enquiry into the reasons for non-compliance with antibiotic medication revealed an unusual sexual fixation in a young black man with borderline intellectual disability. His behaviour involved high-frequency masturbation accompanied by sexual fantasies of actions relating to innocent, non-sexual oral behaviour witnessed in unknown females. Concurrent with the masturbatory fantasies, the man would ingest bacteria from open sores in his body. The case history is described.
