Abstract

Within this paper we present a staged e-Business development model and toolset. The model allows organisations to assess their current eBusiness capabilities, and advise them on the steps to take in areas of technology, management, and business operations to progress to the following stage in the model. The approach taken was to design five separate stages of eBusiness capability, from having order visibility, to a stage of eCollaboration. Organisations are assessed similar to a Capability Maturity Modelling (CMM) approach [1], and our framework then used to progress their e-Business initiatives to higher stages in the development model.
