Abstract

The digital camera is one of the main successes of recent years in consumer electronics. However a typical digital camera remains tied to proprietary software on a personal computer. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of a portable Java API to simplify end user access to digital cameras and to provide interconnectivity with a new generation of intelligent home applicances.
