Silvestri S., Mansour S., Marra M. et al. (2022) Shaking table tests of a full-scale flat-bottom manufactured steel silo filled with wheat: Main results on the fixed-base configuration. Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 51(1), 169–190. DOI: 10.1002/eqe.3561
The study presented one of the very few full-scale experimental seismic investigations on industrial steel silos filled with granular material. Through shaking table testing, the research examined the dynamic response, structural behaviour, and failure mechanisms of a full-scale flat-bottom steel silo under earthquake loading, providing valuable insights for the seismic design and assessment of industrial storage structures.
