Increasing urbanisation has led to higher noise pollution, creating demand for more effective noise reduction technologies beyond current acoustic materials. The EU-funded TANDEM project addresses this by developing lightweight acoustic metamaterials to improve noise insulation across sectors such as construction, aerospace, and transport, with a focus on commercialisation.
