Biography

Dr. Vinitha Richard is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Discipline of Surgery, based at the Lambe Institute for Translational Research. She received her Doctorate degree in Biotechnology "Decoding cancer stem cells in oral cancer" from the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for BIotechnology, India.  At present, she is working on a translational research project "MicroRNAs for the Stratification of HER2+ Breast Cancer" that was part of the Precision Oncology Ireland Consortium and is presently funded by the National Breast Cancer Research Institute [NBCRI].

Research Interests

Vinitha's research focus is mainly Translational Medical Research involving small molecular biomarkers microRNAs and disease specific multi-analytes in circulation for detection, profiling, and stratification of breast cancer. She is also interested in elucidating the role of stem-like tumor cells, associated drug resistance in normal and cancerous mammary epithelium.
