Biography

Dr. Usman Haider is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Galway, Ireland. He earned his PhD in Computer Engineering from the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, where he graduated with distinction. His doctoral research focused on sparse data representation for computationally optimized deep convolutional networks, laying the groundwork for efficient and scalable deep learning models.

Dr. Haider’s research interests span computer vision, deep learning, and artificial intelligence, with particular focus on applications in bioprinting, deepfake detection, and intelligent robotic systems. His recent work explores reinforcement learning based control in 3D and bioprinting, as well as efficient segmentation models for biomedical imaging. His research contributions have been published in leading journals, including Scientific Reports, Computer Communications, IEEE Access, Biomedical Signal Processing and Control, and Image and Vision Computing. In addition to his research, Dr. Haider has demonstrated a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship. He has guided undergraduate and postgraduate students in advanced projects on machine learning, computer vision, and signal processing, emphasizing practical experimentation and research-driven learning.

Beyond academia, Dr. Haider actively engages in interdisciplinary collaborations, integrating AI-driven solutions into healthcare, manufacturing, and security domains.
