Research Interests
My research is centered on generating geochemical records (stable isotope and trace metal) of past ocean temperature and salinity using foraminifera and corals from sediment cores to improve our understanding of past regional and global ocean circulation, glacial-interglacial cycles, and sea level variability. My research during my PhD focused on the Western Tropical Pacific over the last four glacial cycles (~500 thousand years). As a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Galway I am investigating how dissolution of the shells of the polar foraminiferaNeogloboquadrina pachyderma impacts their shell chemistry as they sink to the ocean floor and how that is impacting our climate records we generate from that chemistry.
