Biography

Tania Jahir is a Research Assistant at the Health Promotion Research Centre, University of Galway and is a IUHPE registered Health Promotion Practitioner. She holds an MA in Health Promotion (University of Galway, Ireland), an MPH in Epidemiology & a MSS in Social Sciences (Dhaka, Bangladesh). She has over 12 years of public health research experience in Bangladesh, specializing in both qualitative and quantitative methods. Over the past years she worked in a variety of collaborative projects focusing on maternal and child health development through WASH improvement, heavy metal exposure reduction, maternal mental health, maternal and child health nutrition, and early childhood development through psychosocial stimulation. She worked with implementation science Interventions to change health-related behaviours, and the use of behaviour change techniques and evaluating related projects. She has proven ability in health promotion, behavioural change communication, and training health workers/researchers. Skilled in collaborative research and dissemination, she currently contributes to a co-design project at the HPRC.
