Biography
Sinead holds a degree in Business Studues (Marketing), an MSc in Technology Management, an MA in Teaching, Learning and Scholarship and a Doctorate in Philosophy. Research interests include climate change, green innovation, e-learning, problem based learning and practice based learning. Sinead has extensive research and industry experience in Europe, North America and Australasia, including international industry experience in banking, retail, manufacturing, service and education sectors.

RiskAquaSoil
Sinead's latest project, RiskAquaSoil, is an EU INTERREG Atlantic Arc project supported by Euorpean Regional Development Funds. The aim of the project is to build resilience in our catchments and adapt to the impacts of climate change in terms of increased flooding, drought and water pollution. Learn more here.
Past Research:
NetKnowing 2.0
Cross-country study between Ireland and Canada investigating the impact of facilitated networks on green innovativeness in micro-firms.The aim of NetKnowing 2.0 was to help small and medium European enterprises to turn daily tasks into a source of corporate informal learning for all employees, thus enabling the integration of lifelong learning with normal work practices and provides an opportunity for companies to build their own formative learning resources.
NetKnowing 2.0 is being developed by a European consortium composed of six organisation partners. The partners include Iturbrok S.L. (Spain), and Tempo Training and Consulting (Czeck Republic), The Educational Media Research Centre, University of Limerick (EMRC, Ireland) and Institut Arbeit und Technik (IAT, Germany), The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts of Siauliai (L) and the Associação Industrial Portuguesa Câmara de Comércio e Industria (AIP-CCI).
Euronet PBL
Euronet-PBL developed a common approach to Practice-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning (PBL) in three areas of studies (vocational teacher education, business administration and engineering studies). The partners included Institut Technik und Bildung (ITB), University of Bremen, Germany; Akershus University College, HIAK, Norway; Sabanci University (SU), Turkey; University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Slovenia; University of Limerick, Educational Media Research Centre (EMRC), Ireland; Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark; Pontydysgu Ltd., UK Wales; Halmstad University College (HH) , Sweden.
Simpel – SMEs Improving eLearning Practices
Partner countries: Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Hungary.
The main objectives of this project were the analysis, structuring, dissemination and valorisation of successful eLearning models and eLearning implementation chances, resulting from projects centered on eLearning in SMEs.
ARIEL – Analysing and Reporting on the Implementation of eLearning in Europe
ARIEL was funded by the EU in the context of the eLearning initiative. Partner countries included University Györ (Hungary), University Limerick (Ireland), VEB Consult Firenze (Italy), and University Craiova (Romania). The Institute Work and Technology in Gelsenkirchen (Germany) coordinated the project.

Dublin City University
Position: Tutor, Internal Examiner for BSc Information Technology and Information Systems
Advised and coached students through both synchronous and asynchronous means, utilising methods of interaction such as, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) e.g. Moodle (forums, chat rooms), email, online, live, virtual classroom technology (Blackboard Collaborate). Restructured and edited course material and implemented changes to learning resources. Evaluated students course work and delivered group and individual feedback to students. Devised lesson plans and directed training delivery
Web 2.0
Designed and delivered an online training course using Web 2.0 (Wikis, blogs, RSS feeds and other social media). The course enables the user of Web 2.0 and networking to acquire and generate informal learning the course was delivered to University of Limerick, Waterford Institute of Technology staff and students and micro enterprises.University of Limerick
Tutor for first year MSc in Technology Management course delivered via eLearning.
The course focused on product innovation, technology transfers and R&D, Industry focused, applied learning, building students leadership and management skills. Worked with learners to ensure assignments were consistent with prevailing standards for scholarship by providing direction and supportive interaction throughout the course of study, while, at the same time, supporting a positive learner experience.
Lectured and tutored final year engineering students.
Duties included, design, development and delivery of course material on Engineering Management, assessment and feedback of course work.
Ennis International Business College
Trained International students on business subjects, prepared and corrected final exams, carried out continuous assessment and student progress reports. Established and discussed assignment expectations and criteria based assessment techniques with students. Provided regular and timely feedback and guidance to students regarding exams and written assignments. Subjects included event management, finance, HR and resource planning.
Consultancy and Training on Q-Pulse (Quality Document Management System Software)
Provided customised training on Q-Pulse document management system to multiple sites.
