Biography

Sinéad Lydon is a behavioural psychologist working in the School of Medicine at University of Galway. Sinéad is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Care, teaching on the Schools undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and a member of the Irish Centre for Applied Patient Safety and Simulation's research team. Her research interests include the working lives of doctors (particularly women in medicine), patient safety and quality of care (particularly involving patients in improvement efforts), and infertility. Sinéad became the first Irish Certified Professional in Patient Safety in 2019. Sinéad holds a PhD in Psychology (funded by the Irish Research Council) from Trinity College Dublin. She has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles.
