Biography

Dr Mahon is a Lecturer Above the Bar in the Discipline of Economics at University of Galway. He is currently Programme Director for the MSc in Health Economics. His research focuses primarily on Health Economic Evaluation. He is a member of the National Screening Advisory Committee of Ireland and a member of the Health Economics Association of Ireland Executive Committee.

Research Interests

Current research interests include:

  • Estimations of a cost-effectiveness threshold for new health technologies in Ireland
  • Accounting for aspects of equity in health economic evaluation
  • Methods for early value assessment in healthcare
